‘Almost May Breakfast’

WARREN — St. Alexander Church, 221 Main St., will sponsor an “Almost May Breakfast,” April 27, from 10 a.m.-noon, in the church hall. The menu will include waffles, eggs, ham, sausage, muffins, fresh fruit and more. Tickets are available after all parish Masses or by calling 245-3525.

Rosary for Life

CRANSTON — St. Paul Church, One St. Paul Place, will host a Mass for Life, April 26, 7 a.m. Following Mass, participants will walk to a local clinic to recite the rosary for the unborn denied the right to life.

Holy Name Concert

PROVIDENCE — The Gospel Choir of Holy Name of Jesus Church, 99 Camp St., will perform a “Tenth Anniversary Concert,” April 27, 3 p.m., in the auditorium of the former Holy Name School. Pasta dinner

WARREN — St. Jean Baptiste and St. Mary of the Bay parishes will sponsor a pasta dinner fundraiser, April 26, 6-8 p.m., in the St. Mary of the Bay lower church, 645 Main St. The menu will include pasta and meatballs, salad, rolls, coffee, tea and dessert. A cash bar will also be available. All proceeds will benefit local troops serving in Iraq. For tickets, call 252-9332.

Young Adult Group activities

PAWTUCKET — The Young Adult Group of St. Leo Parish and Deanery 1 will meet on April 25 for a pot luck dinner and board game night. Participants in their 20s-40s are encouraged to attend. On May 4, members will gather at Slater Park tennis courts at 2 p.m., for outdoor activities and exercise. Singles and families are welcome. For more information, call 723-4256.

St. Antoine Villa events

CUMBERLAND — The Villa at St. Antoine, 400 Mendon Road, will host a concert performed by the Diocesan Gospel Choir, April 24, 7 p.m. A series of Friday Open Houses will be offered on May 2, 9,16, 23 and 30, 2 p.m. Tours of the 76 unit assisted-living facility will be offered, and refreshments will be served. Fashion show, dinner

NORTH PROVIDENCE — The Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 1081 Mineral Spring Avenue, will host a fashion show and dinner, May 8, 6:30 p.m., at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Warwick. The event, entitled “Swirl into Fashion,” will include dinner, music by Anthony Crocenzi, raffles and beautiful fashions. Proceeds from the event will benefit parish ministries. St. Leo dinner-dance

PAWTUCKET — St. Leo Church, 697 Central St., will hold a dinner-dance and silent auction, May 3, at the West Valley Inn, West Warwick. As the parish celebrates 67 years of Catholic education, the parish school administration, faculty and staff will be honored at the event. Betty Lima will also be honored for her dedication to the parish and Ron Dalton will be honored for his commitment to Catholic education in the parish. Religious Education workshop

PROVIDENCE — The diocesan Office of Religious Education will sponsor a High School Catechetical Materials Workshop, April 30, 9:30-11:30 a.m., at St. Anthony Church parish center, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Bishop Richard J. Malone of the Diocese of Portland, ME will offer an explanation of the recent USCCB document entitled “Doctrinal Elements of a Curriculum Framework for the Development of Catechetical Materials for Young People of High School Age.” Bishop Malone will speak about the origin of the document and offer some pastoral concerns and implications.
