SS. John and Paul Parish to Host Deanery Holy Hour

COVENTRY — SS. John and Paul Parish, 341 South Main St., will host the Deanery Holy Hour for Life on Thursday evening, July 14, at 7 p.m. The Holy Hour will begin with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, followed by Rosary, reflections, Divine Mercy Chaplet, Litany of Loreto, and Benediction. St. Martha Parish to host monthlyBingo games

EAST PROVIDENCE — St. Martha Parish, 2595 Pawtucket Ave., is now offering a night of bingo on the first Thursday of each month. The next scheduled night is Thursday, July 7. Volunteers needed for opportunities to serve others and transform lives

PROVIDENCE — In this Year of Mercy, the Ignatian Volunteer Corps is looking for individuals 50 years and older looking for opportunities to serve others and transform lives. Volunteers are strengthened in their Catholic faith by IVC’s unique spiritual reflection program, which is rooted in Ignatian spirituality. Volunteers work with the poor, immigrants and those in need in a variety of settings, including schools, homeless shelters, food pantries and parishes. SPRED to sponsor children’s summer camp for the blind

PROVIDENCE — For the first time the Special Religious Education (SPRED) office is sponsoring a two-week summer camp for blind children, 5 -15 years old. The National Federation of the Blind of Rhode Island will run the camp from August 8-19, 2016 at St. Anthony Church, 549 Plainfield St. A limited number of registrations are available. St. Ann’s Church to offer novena in honor of patron

PROVIDENCE — St. Ann Church will hold its annual novena in honor of St. Ann from July 18 through July 26. There will be a Mass with a healing service and Anointing of the Sick on Friday July 22. Parish to host weekly Classic Car ‘Cruise Night’

Christ the King parish to host fundraiser for mission trip

KINGSTON — A wine and beer tasting fundraiser for the Christ the King Parish Mission Trip to Nicaragua Summer 2016 will take place on Saturday, July 9 from 6-8:30 p.m., in Christ the King Parish Hall, 180 Old North Road. The fundraiser will feature light appetizers, gift baskets, sports tickets, silent auction and other raffles. All proceeds go to support the Mission Trip Fund. Christian Brothers to host Classic Car Show

NARRAGANSETT — The Christian Brothers’ Ocean Tides School, 635 Ocean Road, will host “Beauties and the Beach” Classic Car Show on Sunday, July 10 from 11a.m. to 3 p.m. will be open to all. The show will feature food, 50-50 raffle, music provided by DJ Car Guy, trophies, awards and giveaways. No entrance fee and public parking is only $3. 111th annual St. Mary's Feast Italian Food and Music Festival

CRANSTON — The annual St. Mary's Feast Italian Food and Music Festival, Knightsville's Little Italy, will take place July 20-24,Wednesday and Thursday 6 to 11 p.m., Friday 6 p.m. to midnight, Saturday 3 p.m. to Midnight and Sunday noon to 11 p.m. with a fireworks show on Sunday at 10 p.m. The menu will feature Italian sausage and peppers, Philly cheese steak, fried calamari, raw and fried clams, eggplant and chicken Parmesan, cannoli and more. Veneration of St. Maximillian Kolbe to take place at nearby church

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. — In commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Conventual Franciscan Friar, St. Maximilian Kolbe, Our Lady of the Angels Province has scheduled a pilgrimage of a relic that will be venerated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, 235 North Front St., July 8-10. The event will begin Friday evening with the arrival of the relic at 6 p.m. followed by a prayer service and veneration. A movie on the life of St. Maximilian Kolbe will follow the prayer service in the church hall. Following Masses on Saturday, 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., for 2 hours and again on Sunday, 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. there will be an opportunity to view and venerate the Relic. The visitation of the Pilgrimage of the St. Maximilian Kolbe Relic will conclude with a prayer service at 3 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
