Celebrating their faithful service

Seventy-eight religious brothers and sisters from around the Diocese of Providence celebrated the World Day of Consecrated Life with Bishop Thomas J. Tobin, on Sunday, Feb. 7 at the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary in North Providence.

Religious from orders including The Cluny Sisters, Lasallian Brothers, Felician Sisters, Sacred Heart Brothers and many more enjoyed lunch and a blessing from Bishop Tobin.

Following the meal was a discussion offered by Father Edward T. Myers, O.P., prior of the Dominican Community at St. Thomas Aquinas Priory at Providence College. Father Myers spoke on renewing the blessings of the call to the Consecrated Life. The afternoon concluded with vespers, presided over by Father Silvio DeNard, SdC, pastor of Sacred Heart Parish, East Providence.
