As part of its Catholic Schools Week celebration, St. Margaret School, Rumford, honored four alumni with its inaugural Distinguished Alumni Awards last Wednesday.

Alumni honored included Rebecca Songolo, a former Peace Corps member who currently works for the Narragansett Bay Commission; Veronica Procopio, principal of Woodlawn Catholic Regional School; Colleen McCarthy, a prosecutor for the Rhode Island Department of Health; and Thomas “T.J.” Sorrentine, associate head coach for the Brown University basketball team, who could not be present on Wednesday.

Alumni participated in a question-and-answer panel with St. Margaret’s middle school students, discussing career paths, advice for the future and favorite memories of the school.

“All of the things that I’ve done in my life, really, the foundation was here at St. Margaret’s,” Songolo told the students.
