Local students compete in Knights of Columbus-sponsored contest

GREENVILLE — The St. Philip Council of the Knights of Columbus sponsored a religious freedom essay and “Keep Christ in Christmas” poster contest for the students of St. Philip School. Chuck Brailsford, grand knight of the St. Philip Council, presented awards to the first, second and third place winners in each grade category during a school Mass on Friday, February 3. Following the schoolwide contest, students went on to compete in a statewide contest sponsored by the Rhode Island State Council. Several winners from around the state will go on to compete in a national contest sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council in New Haven, Connecticut.
