Sister Mary Randall

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Sister Mary Randall, 82, beloved member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield, died in Framingham, Mass. on November 28, 2015. A native of Newport, R.I., she was the daughter of Robert A. and Marie (Niland) Randall.

Sister Mary entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield from St. Augustine Parish, Newport in 1950. She was graduated from St. Catherine Academy, Newport and earned a B.A. degree from the College of Our Lady of the Elms, Chicopee, Mass.

Sister Mary taught at Immaculate Conception School, Easthampton, Mass., and Sacred Heart School in Gardner, Mass. She served the Diocese of Providence for many years at St. Lucy School, Middletown, and St. Joseph School, Newport, and ministered among the people of St. Thomas Parish, Providence for 37 years, from 1976 until her retirement in 2013.

In addition to her Sisters in community, she is survived by her siblings, Fr. Robert Randall of Florida, Theresa Zimmerly of Ohio, and Joan Soares of Newport and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Fr. John Randall of Providence.

A Mass of Christian Burial took place on Friday, Dec. 4, 2015 in Mont Marie Chapel with burial in Mont Marie Cemetery.
