Sister Theresa Caruso, MPF

MORRISTOWN, N.J. — Sister Theresa Caruso, 95, died Friday, Nov. 30, at St. Joseph Hall, Villa Walsh, Morristown, N.J.

Born in Newark, N.J., Sister Caruso entered the Religious Teachers Filippini in 1934. She received the habit in 1935 and made her religious profession in 1938. She was awarded a B.S. degree in elementary education from the former Catholic Teachers College, Providence.

She taught at many schools including St. Mary School in Cranston. Sister Caruso retired in 1994 in Morristown and in 1995, she became a resident at Freytag Hall Infirmary, Villa Walsh.

Sister Caruso is survived by her sisters-in-law Dolores and Aileen Caruso as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Frances (Irace) Caruso, her sister Rose Cicalesse, and her brothers Carmen, Peter, Louis and Augustine.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Dec. 4 at St. Lucy Chapel in Villa Walsh, Morristown with interment at Ave Maria Cemetery, Villa Walsh, Morristown.
