TO THE EDITOR:
The Catholic Church opposes abortion. The Democratic Party endorses abortion.
The Catholic Church deems each and every pregnancy as being a miraculous gift from God. The Democratic Party dismisses any pregnancy as being a mere and mundane inconvenience.
With that in mind, is it surprising that a Catholic priest would deny Communion to a parishioner who, acting as a Democrat legislator, promotes legislation that, contrary to Catholic teaching, subsidizes abortion?
It’s only surprising that it doesn’t happen more often.
