Bishop Thomas J. Tobin visited Emmanuel House, the diocesan homeless shelter for men located in South Providence, on Wednesday, Dec. 19. The bishop began by leading a round of applause for Emmanuel House Director Dotty Perreault and her staff for all the good work they do all year long before offering a brief reflection on the importance of Jesus to help prepare the household for Christmas. He then helped staff to serve a pizza dinner to the guests. Following dinner, he helped to distribute gift bags containing items of warm clothing and bus passes to each guest. “We’re so proud of Emmanuel House; it’s a very important part of our diocese, and you are all part of our diocesan family,” Bishop Tobin said.
