Summer Camp for High School Boys

PROVIDENCE — All Catholic boys of high school age are invited to attend a Quo Vadis Days Camp to spend time with other young men discovering their purpose in life while having fun. The camp will be held from July 30 – August 2 at the Seminary of Our Lady of Providence. Quo Vadis Days Camp is led by priests and seminarians of the Diocese of Providence and is supported by the Office of Vocations. The camp will include reflections from priests and laymen from around the diocese, Mass with our bishop, an outdoor challenge course and a number of other fun activities. Vocations Race Team

CRANSTON — The Office of Vocations is organizing a race team for The Gaspee Days 5K Foot Race at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 10. The team is comprised of priests, seminarians and lay faithful who will wear team t-shirts that witness to the faith, invite spectators and race participants to pray for vocations. The more runners, the more powerful the witness. There will be a pre-race Mass at 8 a.m. at St. Paul’s Church in Cranston. SVET the Violinist to perform at McVinney Auditorium

PROVIDENCE — McVinney Auditorium launches its 2017 Performing Arts Series with SVET the Violinist. SVET, the electro hip hop violinist from America’s Got Talent, performs for one night only at McVinney Auditorium, 43 Dave Gavitt Way, on Friday, June 16 at 7 p.m. as part of his 60-city international “String Theory” Tour. Hope and Cope Meeting Scheduled

PORTSMOUTH — The next meeting of the East Bay Hope and Cope Group, focusing on Roman Catholic spirituality and open to all supporting those in recovery or in recovery themselves, is Sunday, May 21, in the St. Barnabas Church, in the Chapel Meeting Room under the Chapel from 5 to 6 p.m. Open to everyone especially anyone supporting those in recovery or in recovery themselves. Scalabrini-Dukcevich Center to host Scalabrini Day

PROVIDENCE — On Saturday, June 3, the Scalabrini-Dukcevich Center is sponsoring the fifth annual Scalabrini Day Celebration for the dual purpose of highlighting the Catholic/biblical understanding of migration according to the charism of the blessed Bishop John Baptist Scalabrini and raising funds for the services to migrants offered year-round by the Center. St. Rita’s to host Waterfront Festival

WARWICK — On Thursday, June 1 through Sunday, June 4, St. Rita’s Oakland Beach Parish will host its annual Waterfront Festival. For wholesome entertainment, bring family and friends to the fest of fun, food, carnival rides, raffles and games at the Father O’Hara Ballpark. Fireworks blast off Saturday evening, June 3, when the sun goes down. New location set for divorced and separated support group

The Great Gospel Concert to benefit students, parish

JOHNSTON — St. Brigid’s Church, 1231 Plainfield St., will host a concert on June 11 at 3 p.m., to benefit students in the engineering program at the University of Rhode Island to help with the expenses of their books. A portion of the proceeds will also be donated to St. Brigid’s Church. The concert will feature The Tribe of Levutes, Brookdale Chorus, Diondra Stubs, Johnston High School Class of 2016, the dynamic singing duo Dion and Kim and Professor Dennis Montgomery. Public Square Rosary in honor of Marian Year

Family Prayer event at Father Peyton Center

EASTON, Mass. – All are invited to attend an afternoon of family fun, prayer and food, on Saturday, June 3 at 1:30 p.m., at Father Peyton Center, 518 Washington St., N. Easton, Mass., with Adoration, a short film on Father Patrick Peyton, C.S.C., and engaging activities for children. Annual Strawberry Festival

NORTH SCITUATE — St. Joseph Church, 144 Danielson Pike, will hold their Annual Strawberry Festival on Friday, June 2 from 5 – 7 p.m. in the church hall. The dinner is a ham and barbecued chicken dinner, with potato salad, baked beans, corn bread muffins and beverages, and features homemade Strawberry shortcake for dessert. Saint Agnes Church to host first annual Garden Party

PROVIDENCE — The First Annual Garden Party will be held Sunday, May 28 at Saint Agnes Church, after the 10:30 a.m. Mass. Parishioners and friends are invited to bring a flowering shrub or perennial to plant in memory of a loved one. Children are invited to plant an annual plant in the children’s garden and water it each week when they attend Mass. Garden will be blessed by Father Frank Salmani. This will be followed by a parish picnic on the church grounds.

SPRED Liturgy to be celebrated

WARWICK — St. Benedict Parish, 135 Beach Ave., will hold a SPRED (Special Religious Education) Liturgy at the 4 p.m. Mass on Saturday May 27. Our special friends will be preparing the altar and bringing the gifts during the Mass. All are welcome to attend the Mass and open house that follows in the parish hall. Refreshments will be served.
