PROVIDENCE – The Black Repertory Company reopened last week after a two-week closure due to a ceiling collapse.

A part of the company’s Westminster Street theater’s ceiling collapsed on December 27 forcing programming to be suspended at the theater and causing a financial loss of more than $25,000 according to a press release provided by the company. The company held a re-opening celebration on Friday, January 11 that raised nearly $5,000. The theater is now open and will continue to provide programming for the community. Donations to the “Save the Ceiling Fund” are still being accepted, they can be made to: Providence Black Repertory Company, 276 Westminster Street, Providence RI, 02903, Attention: Development.
