Deacon Carmine Forlingieri

CRANSTON — Deacon Carmine Forlingieri, of Cranston, passed away on Monday February 26, 2018, at home with his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Olga Marie (Vicario) Forlingieri. Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late Carmine and Josephine (Cherella) Forlingieri.

Carmine served his country as a veteran of the US Army. He was a graduate of Bryant University and an accountant at Starkweather & Shepley Insurance for many years before retiring.

Carmine was a Grand Knight 4th Degree of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of St. Joseph’s Men’s Guild. He was ordained in the Catholic Church as a Deacon in 1982 and served the Immaculate Conception Church in Cranston for over 30 years. His ministry included the residents of the Eleanor Slater Hospital.

He received the Feinstein Merit Award in recognition of his community service through which he brought spiritual relief to many.

Besides his wife, he was the dear brother of Angela DiMaio, Concetta Flori and Paul Forlingieri and the late Pasquale Forlingieri. He also leaves several loving nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday March 3 at St. Mark’s Church, Cranston with entombment in Garden Mausoleum at St. Ann Cemetery Cranston.
