Easter Blessings at Cathedral celebration

As the sounds of the Cathedral Choir echoed throughout the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul in Providence, Bishop Thomas J. Tobin celebrated Easter Sunday Mass, and wished the many families in attendance a very happy and blessed day.

“I hope and pray that the special peace and joy and hope in this day will be yours throughout the Easter season and always,” the bishop shared.

In his homily, Bishop Tobin added that if people today are going to believe in Jesus and his resurrection it will be because of those who continue to truly live out their faith in their daily lives.

“Do we then live every day in such a way that makes Christianity attractive to others? Do we live our lives in such a way that draws others closer to Jesus because our lives are so vibrant and faith filled? Are we proud of our Catholic faith? If the world is going to believe in Jesus Christ today it will be because of us, just as surely as it was up to those first apostles after the resurrection. May you and I always live our lives in such a way, that our life was too good to end, too important to be overcome by death. That’s the promise of the resurrection for all who believe in Jesus.”
