Hendricken to host anniversary gala honoring alumni priests

WARWICK — Bishop Hendricken High School has announced plans to celebrate the 5th anniversary of their largest fundraiser of the year, the ‘For The Boy’s Gala on Saturday, May 5 from 6-11 p.m. Proceeds from the event support the Tuition Assistance Fund which makes it possible for more boys who desire the Hendricken experience the opportunity to realize their dream.

As a leader in Catholic education for young men for nearly 60 years, Hendricken has chosen to mark the special anniversary by honoring their alumni who have been called to priestly service. Nineteen priests will be recognized for their devotion to faith, ministry, service to their alma mater, and to the parishes and communities they serve.

The event will recognize the following Hendricken alumni priests:

Rev. Stephen P. Amaral ‘68; Rev. Eric M. Bennett ‘98; Rev. Ryan W. Connors ‘01; Rev. Jared J. Costanza ‘91; Rev. Christopher P. Feeney ‘99; Rev. Gregory T. Fishel ‘69; Rev. Peter L. Fitzgibbons ‘71; Rev. James E. Gallagher ‘71; Rev. Barry Gamache ‘70; Rev. Peter A. Jarret, C.S.C. ‘82; Rev. Christopher Mahar ‘88; Rev. Raymond B. Malm ‘63; Rev. Albert P. Marcello ‘00; Rev. Robert Marciano ‘75; Rev. Brian J. Morris ‘03; Rev. David C. Procaccini ‘84; Rev. Nathan J. Ricci ‘08; Rev. Gregory P. Stowe ‘97; and Mgsr. Paul D. Theroux ‘68.

“In recent years it has become increasingly difficult for families to afford a Catholic school education, and out of that need, the ‘For the Boys’ Gala was born,” said Bishop Hendricken President John A. Jackson ’71. “The first four galas raised over half a million dollars; in the current school year, there are 48 boys enrolled who wouldn’t be at Hendricken today if not for the additional tuition assistance the event provides to make their enrollment possible,” he added.

Corporate sponsorships underwrite the cost of the event, allowing every dollar to directly benefit a young man who desires the Hendricken experience, regardless of income.

The event draws nearly 400 attendees and features fine dining, entertainment and a live auction under a tent on the grounds of Bishop Hendricken. Tickets are $125 per person.
