ATTLEBORO, MASS. – The National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette has announced a day of fasting for the laity to show support for priests here and around the world. The Lay Day of Fast to Support Our Priests will be held on October 20 from dawn to 3 p.m. Closing services will include exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Rosary for Priests, and a closing Benediction, when all priests will be offered into Our Blessed Lady’s care and protection.

The focus of the Day of Fast is to lift up in prayer and thanksgiving the spirituality and needs of Catholic priests world-wide and to honor the sacrifice they give of their lives for the faithful each and every day. Participants may fast from anything that will allow them to share in some way in the sacrifice of Our Lord. The day concludes at the 3 p.m. Hour of Power with a private rosary for priests. The fast also asks Our Lady, the Blessed Virgin Mary, to bless the community with additional candidates for the priesthood.

All are invited to participate. For more information, and to register, please visit: www.annaprae.com.
