TO THE EDITOR:
Rhode Island Catholic’s editorial of Sept. 26, citing Dr. Laurent Alexandre’s concern that China has a “near-monopoly” on the rare earth metals required for solar panels and wind turbines, left me puzzled. If love, indeed, casts out fear, why would we continue to pollute the earth with fossil fuels rather than muster the courage to use our God-given intellectual and spiritual capacity to figure out how to make peace with China?
