LETTER TO THE EDITOR

McVinney Auditorium a wonderful venue for events

To the editor:

I wanted to take a minute to thank Bishop Tobin and all involved in the recent Men of St. Joseph/Knights of Columbus Men’s Conference for a great day of faith and fellowship. Rediscovered that day was the venue that they allowed us to use. I hadn’t been in Bishop McVinney Auditorium in many years. I had forgotten what a resource that this building is for the diocese. I sang at the dedication of the building as part of the Blessed Sacrament Boy’s Choir in the late 1960s and I may have been there only once or twice since. In fact, I am on the waiting list to bring Matthew Kelly to R.I. (and my name should come up in 2018) and I plan to book this facility, if it is available. The seats were much more comfortable than sitting at tables in a hall as we had done in past years. It was a great idea to use this auditorium. Thank you to all involved. I urge more groups in the Diocese to take advantage of this forgotten resource if possible.
