Our Lady of Fatima Church Youth Ministry help to feed the homeless

CUMBERLAND — The Youth Ministry from Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland, recently donated 260 bagged lunches to the Mae Organization for the Homeless.

More than 20 families came together to make the bagged lunches, which consisted of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, a piece of fruit, chips and a water.

With masks on for safety, families came to drop off their sandwiches. One family who lives near the church walked to the church with their dog and their lunch bags in a little red wagon.

The night before the food drive, Deacon Armand Bartolo, pastor assistant at Our Lady of Fatima Church, offered the Rosary via Facebook Live, lifting up prayers for all the hungry people in the local community and world.

Lina Cabral, a catechist and active adult leader in the Youth Ministry, led by Eddy Pereira, reminded the families volunteering, “Whatever you do to the least of my brothers, so you do unto me” (Matthew 25:31-46).
