Overbrook prepares grads to be Catholic women leaders

PROVIDENCE - On Thursday, June 7, Mass was celebrated at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in Providence, to commemorate the graduation of 65 international students who attended Overbrook Academy.

Students from Latin America, Southeast Asia and Europe attended the Greenville international boarding school for girls grades six through nine.

Principal Susan Mansfield shared that Overbrook had the honor to form the students spiritually, academically and personally.

“We have enjoyed watching our students grow in their faith and in their academics as they are accompanied each day by the Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi, their deans and teachers,” said Mansfield. “This year we had 21 students who were confirmed with Bishop Thomas J. Tobin presiding. Academically, our students soared this year. Our Test on English as a Foreign Language scores increased by an average of 72 points; we had one student earn a perfect score of 900 and ten students improved their TOEFL scores by more than 100 points. We are all very proud of the effort and hard work of our girls.”

Overbrook Academy offers students a richness of formation in the intellectual, human and spiritual areas, which is complemented by New England culture and travel opportunities.
