Portsmouth's St. Philomena School to Honor Order’s Foundress

PORTSMOUTH, RI – The Sisters Faithful Companions of Jesus and the St. Philomena School community will be holding a special celebration in honor of Venerable Marie Madeleine d’Houët, foundress of the Society, Sisters Faithful Companions of Jesus.

This Order of Sisters, inaugurated in 1820, established St. Philomena School in Portsmouth in 1953. The event marks the 150th anniversary of Madame d’Houet’s death as well as the 125th anniversary of the arrival of the Sisters FCJ in the Americas. A Mass will be held on April 5, 2008, at 4:30 P.M. in St. Philomena School auditorium followed by a reception. All are welcome to attend. Please RSVP by March 31, 2008, to 683-2222 or empfcj@yahoo.ca.
