Reflections on our faith

Posted

TO THE EDITOR:

Thanks to Father John Kiley for his explanation of Faith in the Epistle to the Hebrews. After many years of studying and pondering I dare to offer a few reflections of my own emphasizing the subjective experience of believing which should complement Father Kiley’s presentation. Faith is the persistent expectation that God’s goodness is not exhausted — there is more to come. Faith recognizes that God is endlessly self-revealing, sometimes perplexing, never misleading. Faith accepts the revelation of one’s self to one’s self. Faith is the spiritual growth that never gives up though it may falter at times. Faith surrenders to the divine enticement. Faith is the willing participation in the unfolding Holy puzzle.
