Showered with gifts

St. Margaret School in East Providence recently held a “Baby Shower for Mary” to benefit the diocesan St. Gabriel’s Call. Students collected baby toiletries, bottles, clothing, diapers and many other items. During the shower, eighth graders read poems they wrote to be shared with the prospective parents. Students also played games including “Guess who’s baby pictures these are” with staff and student baby pictures. Above, student council members with some of the baby items. St. Gabriel’s Call is a confidential intervention program coordinated by the Office of Life & Family of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence. This program is the diocesan outreach for women and their families — especially women who are pregnant, or in need of physical, emotional and spiritual assistance during pregnancy and beyond.
