Spring Rosary Novena
PROVIDENCE — Please join Servants of Christ for Life on Saturday mornings for the Spring Rosary Novena. Mass will begin at 8 a.m. at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul followed by praying the Rosary at Planned Parenthood at 8:30 a.m. The last week of the Novena is on June 9. ‘Walk-In Wednesdays’ at The Prout School

History will come to life at Woodlawn Catholic
PAWTUCKET — Woodlawn Catholic Regional School, 61 Hope St., is bringing history to life at the school on Friday, May 25 from 6 – 8 p.m. Students in Grades 7 and 8 have researched historical characters from the colonial days to the present century. Some of the historical figures that they will be portraying are George Washington, Clara Barton, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Rosa Parks. St. Agnes Church to host Garden Party Cook-out
PROVIDENCE — St. Agnes Church, 351 Branch Ave., will hold its annual garden party cook-out on Sunday, May 27 after the 10 a.m. Mass. Everyone is asked to bring a perennial or flowering shrub to plant in memory of a loved one. Children are encouraged to plant annuals on the church grounds. A picnic will follow the planting. St. Rita’s to host Waterfront Festival
WARWICK — Thursday, May 24 through Monday, May 28, St. Rita’s Oakland Beach Parish will host its 23rd annual Waterfront Festival. 34th Annual Lakeside Family Festival

Two to be Ordained Deacons on May 26
PROVIDENCE — Auxiliary Bishop Robert C. Evans will ordain Brendan Rowley and Eric Silva to the Order of Deacons on Saturday, May 26, at 10 a.m. in the Cathedral of SS. Peter & Paul. Rowley and Silva entered formation as pre-theologians in 2013 and were assigned to St. John’s Seminary in Brighton. All are invited to attend the ordination.

A Journey of Faith

Walk together in faith with the St. Mark Church community
CRANSTON — Please come pray and walk together with the Lord as we express the faith in the real presence of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament and bring his light to the streets of Cranston in joyful witness on Sunday, June 3 at St. Mark Church, 9 Garden Court, Cranston (in Garden City). Celebrate the 175th Anniversary of St. Mary Church
WEST WARWICK — St. Mary Parish, 68 Church St., established in 1844 and which maintains the oldest existing church structure in the diocese, will begin its year-long Diamond Anniversary Jubilee with a Holy Hour, Sunday, June 3, at 4 p.m. in the church. Following the Holy Hour, an outdoor statue of St. Francis of Assisi will be blessed and dedicated in memory of Father Paul Francis Reynolds, who served as pastor of the church. A reception will follow in Father Gibson Hall immediately after the dedication. All are invited to attend. The 175th Anniversary of the church will conclude on Sunday, May 5, 2019, at noon, with the concelebrated Solemn Anniversary Mass and Dinner Dance at the Cranston Country Club.

New support group for divorced and separated Catholics
CAROLINA — The Office of Life and Family is offering a new support group for divorced and separated Catholics at St. Mary Church, rectory (downstairs, side entrance), 437 Carolina Back Road. The group is ongoing and will be held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, from 7 - 8:30 p.m. There are no costs to attend. This support group embraces our Catholic faith and God’s grace, and provides a peaceful place for sharing, healing and for topics/discussions related to separation/divorce. Searching for Host Families for the 18-19 school year
WOONSOCKET — Nacel Open Door Private School Program is a CSIET fully accredited nonprofit in St. Paul, Minnesota, and is searching for interested host families for students planning to attend Mount St. Charles Academy in Woonsocket for the upcoming school year. Students are studying in the US on F-1 Visas. The Host Family is a most important part of the program. Nacel provides a generous monthly stipend to help offset the cost of meals, some transportation and utilities. The main purpose of the program is for students to receive an education at a prestigious high school and then go on to college or university. Students are encouraged to live a balanced life and spend some time with the host family and also join some extracurricular activities at school.
