An Evening for Families with Father Leo

Prayer Shawl Ministry to sponsor Mass of Anointing

JOHNSTON — The Prayer Shawl Ministry of St. Brigid’s Church, 1231 Plainfield St., will sponsor the quarterly Mass of Anointing on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 11 a.m. Anyone that is ill in body, mind, or spirit, may receive the sacrament. Prayer Shawls will be available for anyone who may wish to receive one for themselves, a family member or friends at no charge. Future Masses of Anointing will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturdays, March 3 and June 2, 2018.

St. Augustin’s Christmas Bazaar

NEWPORT — St. Augustin Church will hold its annual Christmas Bazaar this year on Saturday, Dec. 2, in the parish hall from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

St. Thomas Church to host Christmas bazaar

PROVIDENCE — St. Thomas Church will host a Christmas bazaar, on December 2, from 9 am. – 6 p.m. in the church hall, 65 Fruit Hill Ave. The bazaar will feature specialty booths including handmade crafts, gift baskets, a penny social, children’s raffle, bake shop, games, a money raffle including main prize of $1,000 and more. St. Ann Church Bazaar and silent auction scheduled

NORTH PROVIDENCE — The annual St. Ann Church Bazaar and Silent Auction will be held at the Dillion Council, Knights of Columbus Hall at 1675 Douglas Ave., on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 3, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Ample parking is available. The bazaar will feature baked goods and sweets, along with handcrafted gifts, children’s hats, scarves, dish cloths, baby rattles, personalized ornaments, outdoor holiday decorations and more than 40 silent auction items. All proceeds to benefit St. Ann Church in Providence.

St. John the Baptist Church to host bazaar

PAWTUCKET — St. John the Baptist Church, 69 Quincy Ave., will host a bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 3, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The event will include 50/50 raffle, basket raffles, and sale of new and used items, food and more. Christmas Bazaar to be held at St. Paul Church

FOSTER— St. Paul Church, 116A Danielson Pike, is having the annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 3, from 9 a.m. – noon. In addition to the theme raffle baskets, handmade knit items, jewelry table, balsam wreaths, penny social table and Snack Shack, there is also a raffle including a $1,000 gift card tree, handmade Jewel Box Queen Quilt, Cuisinart 13-piece Cookware and a holiday dinner basket with a $250 Stop & Shop gift card.

St. Agnes Church Holiday Concert

PROVIDENCE — St. Agnes Church, 351 Branch Ave., will host a special Holiday Concert on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the church. The evening is titled, “Preparing for the Nativity: An Evening of Sacred Music for Advent and Christmas.” Music will be provided by The R.I. College Chamber Singers, the Women’s Chorus and the parish choir. Admission is free and there will be a free will offering taken up during the program to benefit the supply closet for the needy in the area. A collation will follow in the church hall. St. Mark Church to host Christmas Festival

JAMESTOWN — Begin the Christmas season by visiting the St. Mark Church Christmas Festival, 60 Narragansett Ave., on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. New to the festival this year will be a cookie walk, Advent wreaths, photographer, theme raffle baskets and children’s gift making. Saint Mary School hosting annual Christmas Shopping Boutique

CRANSTON — Saint Mary School, 46 Vallone Road, will host its 12th annual Christmas Shopping Boutique on Sunday, Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. The boutique will feature more than 40 crafters and vendors throughout the school, basket raffles, straw raffles, a bake sale, children’s activity room with games, balloon animals and ceramics painting. The kitchen will be open for breakfast and lunch featuring its famous fresh homemade omelets, pizzas, calzones, hot wieners, coffee, beverages and snacks. Theology on Tap scheduled

JOHNSTON — On Thursday, December 7, from 6 – 8:30 p.m., young adults, single or married, in their 20s and 30s are invited to Theology on Tap, at Uncle Tony’s Pizza & Pasta, 46 Putnam Pike (Rt. 44). The topic will be “Might as Well Face it You’re Addicted to Love: Overcoming Addiction.” Learn about tools and wisdom to support people who struggle with addiction. Social hour begins at 6 p.m. followed by a presentation and Q&A at 7 p.m. The speaker will be Rev. Michael R. Simone, S.J., Spiritual Director, Sullivan House Recovery Home, Jamaica Plain, Mass. Catholic Mom’s Group Meeting Scheduled

PROVIDENCE — The Catholic Mom’s Group will host the next meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 6 p.m. at Holy Ghost Church, in the church hall basement. The group is intended to provide support, friendship and the affirmation to Catholic mothers. Fathers and children are also welcome to attend the group meetings.
