National Alliance on Mental Illness support group at Holy Family
PAWTUCKET — National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization, will offer its Rhode Island support group at Holy Family the second Wednesday of every month, 6:30 p.m. in St. Joseph’s church hall, 195 Walcott St. NAMI is a confidential and safe support group for adults living with mental illness.
Fish and Chips at Holy Ghost Church
TIVERTON — Holy Ghost Church, 316 Judson St., will host their annual fish fry on the Fridays of Lent (except Good Friday) from noon – 7 p.m. The menu includes traditional fried fish and chips or baked fish with mashed potatoes and vegetables. St. Theresa Parish to offer Fish and Chips dinner Fridays in Lent
HARRISVILLE — St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Parish will offer fish and chips every Friday during Lent, from noon – 7 p.m., except Good Friday. Grapenut pudding is also available.
St. Mark Church to offer daily Mass and Stations of the Cross during Lent
CRANSTON — St. Mark Church, 9 Garden Ct, will celebrate daily Mass at 8 a.m. and noon, Monday through Friday during the Lenten Season. Stations of the Cross will take place each Friday at 6 p.m.
Calling God ‘Father’ Changes Everything
PROVIDENCE — On the Saturdays of Lent, until April 13, the Dominican friars at St. Pius Parish will host a series of conferences on the “Our Father.” The day will begin with Mass at 8 a.m., followed by a social. The one hour conference begins at 9 a.m.
Knights to host yard sale
NORTH KINGSTOWN — On Saturday, March 23, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m., the Knights of Columbus will hold a yard sale at the council hall, 1265 Tower Hill Road. The hall will be open to receive items between the hours of 5 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 21 and Friday, March 22. Televisions, appliances and clothing will not be accepted.
St. Lucy Parish Mission
MIDDLETOWN — St. Lucy Church will offer a Lenten Mission at all weekend Masses on March 23-24, and March 25 and 26 at 7 p.m. in the church, 909 W. Main Road. The topic of the mission is “The Impression We Make.” Join Father Peter Andrews, pastor of Saint Barnabas Parish, to learn how to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all you meet.
Lenten Mission at St. John Paul II Parish
PAWTUCKET — A Lenten Mission will take place at St. John Paul II Parish, in St. Cecilia Church, 750 Central Ave., on March 24, 25 and 26, beginning at 6 p.m. Deacon Brendan Rowley will speak on St. Peter and the spiritual life. The focus of this Lenten Mission will be on how to move forward in the spiritual life. The mission will reflect on the three stages of spiritual life (purgative, illuminative and unitive) and how one moves through these stages towards the ultimate goal of our existence, union with God.

St. James Church to host health fair
MANVILLE — St. James Church, 33 Division St., will host a free health fair on Sunday, March 24, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. (postponed from March 2) in Father Brindamour Hall. All ages are welcome to join for health screening, education, wellness resources and medication/pill disposal. A voluntary donation to the St. James Food Pantry is welcomed. EAST PROVIDENCE — The Annual Cranston Curia Legion of Mary ACIES ceremony will be held on March 24, at 1:30 p.m., at St. Francis Xavier Church, 81 North Carpenter St. Diocese of Providence Auxiliary Bishop Robert C. Evans will preside, accompanied by Father Jorge V. Rocha, pastor of St. Francis Xavier Church. The Holy Rosary and Consecration to Our Blessed Mother will end with Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament. Three Secrets for the Spiritual Life

St. Timothy Church to offer Lenten Mission
WARWICK — St. Timothy Church, 1799 Warwick Ave., will offer a Lenten Mission on Monday, March 25 and Tuesday, March 26, beginning at 7 p.m. Sister Priscilla Lemire, RJM, will offer a talk on discipleship and practical things Catholics can do to be better disciples of Jesus. Each night will begin with the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament by Father Andrew Messina, pastor, followed by the recitation of the rosary, presentation, time for personal reflection and Benediction.
Saint Margaret Parish to offer Lenten Mission
RUMFORD — Father Timothy Reilly, chancellor of the Diocese of Providence, will preach the St. Margaret Lenten Mission, from Sunday, March 24 to Tuesday, March 26, beginning each night at 7 p.m. The theme will be “Offer It Up: Our Parents Were Right After All.” Father Reilly will present the age-old “problem” of human suffering, and why the key to our sanity (and sanctity!) is to connect faithful to the suffering of Jesus. We will also look at how some of the saints handled suffering in their own lives. Everyone is welcome.
Lenten Fish Dinner
BRISTOL — Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 141 State St., will host a Lenten Fish Dinner on Friday, March 29 from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the parish center. This year’s menu includes fried or baked fish, French fries and coleslaw. Dinner is served take-out or dine-in (cold drinks and limited seating available).
