New support group for divorced and separated Catholics
CAROLINA — The Office of Life and Family is offering a new support group for divorced and separated Catholics at St. Mary Church, rectory (downstairs, side entrance), 437 Carolina Back Road. The group is ongoing and will be held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, from 7 - 8:30 p.m. There are no costs to attend. This support group embraces our Catholic faith and God’s grace, and provides a peaceful place for sharing, healing and for topics/discussions related to separation/divorce. Spring Rosary Novena
PROVIDENCE — Please join Servants of Christ for Life on Saturday mornings for the Spring Rosary Novena. Mass will begin at 8 a.m. at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul followed by praying the Rosary at Planned Parenthood at 8:30 a.m. The last week of the Novena is on June 9. Searching for Host Families for the 18-19 school year
WOONSOCKET — Nacel Open Door Private School Program is a CSIET fully accredited nonprofit in St. Paul, Minnesota, and is searching for interested host families for students planning to attend Mount St. Charles Academy in Woonsocket for the upcoming school year. Students are studying in the US on F-1 Visas. The Host Family is a most important part of the program. Nacel provides a generous monthly stipend to help offset the cost of meals, some transportation and utilities. The main purpose of the program is for students to receive an education at a prestigious high school and then go on to college or university. Students are encouraged to live a balanced life and spend some time with the host family and also join some extracurricular activities at school. ‘Walk-In Wednesdays’ at The Prout School

Knights Kandi Drive scheduled for Saturday
WOONSOCKET — The Knights of Columbus Kandi Drive will be held on May 19, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the corner of Hamlet Avenue and Cumberland Hill Road, and also in Park Square in Woonsocket. The event was rescheduled from May 12 due to rain.

Indoor Flea Market at Holy Family Church
WOONSOCKET — An Indoor Flea Market will take place Saturday, May 19, from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Holy Family Church hall, 414 S. Main St. The flea market will feature many household items, toys, tools, books, puzzles, glassware, holiday and decorative pieces.

Woodlawn Catholic to hold Outdoor Yard Sale
PAWTUCKET — On Saturday, May 19, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine, Woodlawn Catholic Regional School will host an Outdoor Yard Sale at 61 Hope St. The sale will include books, music, jewelry, toys, material, crafts, religious and household items, Avon products and much more, with some items priced as low as 25 cents. Hope and Cope Group meetings scheduled
PORTSMOUTH — The next meeting of the Hope & Cope Group is May 20, at 5 p.m. at St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road. Hope & Cope is a faith-based support group intended for those struggling with or supporting a family member or a friend struggling with alcohol or drug addictions or mental distress. Hope & Cope is open to everyone, with meetings held in the Chapel Meeting Room (under the small Chapel) from 5 – 6 p.m. This program is free, and no registration is required. Father Rocco Puopolo to speak on Nonviolence at LaSalette
ATTLEBORO, Mass. — On Tuesday, May 22, at 7:15 p.m. Father Rocco Puopolo, s.x., will give a presentation entitled “The Challenge of Nonviolence: Promoting Peace in a Violent World.” This event is sponsored by the LaSalette chapter of Pax Christi Massachusetts and will be held in the Welcome Center at the National Shrine of Our Lady of LaSalette, 947 Park St., in Attleboro. Father Puopolo, s.x., is a Xaverian Missionary priest who served the people of Sierra Leone, West Africa during the country’s many years of civil war. More recently, Father Rocco was the executive director of the African Faith and Justice Network in Washington, D.C., an advocacy and education agency focused on Africa. He is a current board member for Pax Christi Massachusetts, a Catholic peace movement which witnesses to the peace of Christ through prayer, study and action. The presentation is free of charge and open to all. No registration is required.

Two to be Ordained Deacons on May 26
PROVIDENCE — Auxiliary Bishop Robert C. Evans will ordain Brendan Rowley and Eric Silva to the Order of Deacons on Saturday, May 26, at 10 a.m. in the Cathedral of SS. Peter & Paul.
