Ignatian Volunteer Corps seeks volunteers
PROVIDENCE — The Ignatian Volunteer Corps is currently seeking volunteers to start in the Fall of 2019. Each volunteer commits to serve two days per week for 10 months at an agency working with individuals struggling with poverty and marginalization. Volunteers also take part in monthly opportunities for spiritual growth. Placement sites are located in the Providence, Worcester and Boston areas. Courage: A Roman Catholic Apostolate
PROVIDENCE — Courage Providence is a support group for Catholic men and women who experience same-sex attraction and who have made a commitment to strive for chastity. Strawberry Festival Dinner
NORTH SCITUATE — St. Joseph Parish will host the annual Strawberry Festival Dinner on Friday, June 14 from 5 – 7 p.m. in the church hall, 144 Danielson Pike. The menu will be a ham and barbecued chicken dinner including potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, cornbread muffins, beverages and strawberry shortcake for dessert. SS. Peter & Paul Church to offer Mass with Anointing of the Sick
WEST WARWICK — A Mass with Anointing of the Sick will be held on Saturday, June 15 at 11 a.m. in the church at 48 Highland St. A luncheon menu of chicken soup, tuna and chicken sandwiches, pasta and fruit salads, pizza, dessert, coffee, water, etc. will be hosted in the church hall following the Mass. Those whose health is seriously impaired by sickness or old age may receive the sacrament of Anointing of the Sick within Mass. The church and hall are handicap accessible.
Hope and Cope support group to meet
PORTSMOUTH — The St. Matthias Ministry Hope and Cope Support Group will meet on Sunday, June 16, from 5 - 6 p.m. in the chapel meeting room, under the chapel, at St. Barnabas Church, 1697 E. Main Road. If you know someone who is supporting a loved one or friend in need of recovery or currently in recovery yourself, then this group is for you. This program is free and provides a wonderful focus on Catholic Spirituality to support recovery. No registration is required. St. Thomas More Praise & Worship
NARRAGANSETT — Please bring a chair and join St. Thomas More Parish on Wednesday, June 19 for Praise & Worship on the lawn of Gazebo Park by the sea wall in Narragansett. Corpus Christi procession at St. Mark Church
CRANSTON — Come pray and walk together with the Lord on Sunday, June 23 at St. Mark Church, 9 Garden Court. The celebration will consist of Solemn Mass at 11 a.m., a traditional Eucharistic Procession of song and prayer, followed by Benediction and concluded with a Coffee &. The procession will travel the city block of the St. Mark grounds.
Church of the Precious Blood to host Patronal Feast of Corpus Christi
WOONSOCKET — The Church of the Precious Blood, 94 Carrington Ave. will celebrate its Patronal Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) on Sunday, June 23 beginning with the recitation of the Rosary at 9 a.m. followed by Holy Mass at 9:30 a.m. celebrated by Father Michael Kelley, pastor. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and a procession inside the church will immediately follow the Holy Mass. A complimentary sacramental gift packet will be given to each attendee after the conclusion of this portion of the festivities.
