Children and teens invited to 2018 Summer Bible Camp

COVENTRY — Children and teens are invited to join the parishes of Our Lady of Czenstochowa and Saint Vincent de Paul for this year’s Summer Bible Camp, from July 16 – 22, 9 a.m. – noon daily, at the school building at Our Lady of Czenstochowa, 445 Washington St. The theme this year is “Jesus Is My Superhero.” All children are welcome to join us for an exciting week of games, crafts, and snacks. Attendees do not need to be a parishioner of either parish. This year students will have fun while learning about Jesus and the Sacraments. Young Adults: BBQ and Bocce Cookout

PROVIDENCE — St. Pius V Young Adults will host a fun and relaxing cookout in the yard across from St. Pius V school on Thursday, June 21 at 7 p.m. In addition to food and drink, there will be bocce and cornhole. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided. Please bring a side dish, dessert or drink. Adoration and Confession is from 6 - 7 p.m.; cookout to follow. Email info@spvya.com with any questions. Strawberry Festival scheduled

NORTH SCITUATE — St. Joseph’s Church, 144 Danielson Pike, will host a Strawberry Festival on Friday, June 22, 5 - 7 p.m., featuring a ham and barbequed chicken dinner. Our Lady of Czenstochowa to host Polish Festival

COVENTRY — Our Lady of Czenstochowa will host a Polish Festival on Friday, June 22, 5-10 p.m.; Saturday, June 23, 5-10 p.m.; and Sunday, June 24, noon - 4 p.m., on school grounds, 222 MacArthur Blvd. & Rte. 117. The festival will include games, crafts, raffles, Cow Chip Bingo and more. Polish and American food will be served including, Golombki, Pierogi, Kapusta Soup, Kielbasa sandwiches, chowder and clam cakes, hot dogs, Torpedoes, French fries, Caçoila, doughboys, sausage and peppers, Strawberry Shortcake and other desserts. Frozen Golombki and Pierogi will also be available for sale. Dance to the music of Dennis Polisky and The Maestro’s Men on Friday, 6 - 10 p.m. and Sunday, noon - 4 p.m., and the Eddie Forman Orchestra on Saturday from 6 - 10 p.m. Free admission and parking. Knights of Columbus to host yard sale

NORTH KINGSTOWN — On Saturday, June 23, the Knights of Columbus will host a yard sale at the council hall, 1265 Tower Hill Road, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. The hall will be open to receive items between the hours of 5-7 p.m., Thursday, June 21 and Friday, June 22. The council cannot accept TV’s, appliances or clothing.

Holy Spirit Feast to take place at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish

WARREN — St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, 500 Metacom Ave., will celebrate its annual Holy Spirit Feast on Saturday, June 23, from 6 p.m. - midnight and Sunday, June 24 from 1-10 p.m. Both days will feature Portuguese dancers from Rancho Folclórico. Saturday will have music by Pro-Mix at 7:30 p.m. Sunday’s show will be at 6 p.m. by José Manuel. Throughout the feast there will be a great selection of Portuguese and American cuisine, auctions and games, all on the spacious church grounds. All are invited to come and enjoy.

Celebrate the feast of St. John the Baptist at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus

HARRISVILLE — The celebration of the Feast of St. John the Baptist will take place at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus outdoor shrine, 35 Dion Drive, on Sunday, June 24. St. Thomas More Parish to host feast and festival

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the dedication of Immaculate Conception Parish

World-famous statue of the Virgin Mary to visit Putnam, Conn.

PUTNAM, Conn. — The World Apostolate of Fatima will bring its United Nations Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima to St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence St., Putnam, Conn., on Saturday, July 7, from 3-6 p.m. Sponsored by Putnam’s Cargill Council 64, Knights of Columbus, the program will start with a prayer service at 3 p.m. at the Putnam Deanery Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel, in the St. Mary’s Parish Center, behind the church. At 3:45 p.m., the statue will be processed into the church by Knights for the 4 p.m. Vigil Mass. After Mass, the custodian of the statue, Judith Studer, will give a short talk about Our Lady’s appearances at Fatima, the history of the statue itself and about her trips around the world with the Fatima Apostolate. She will also discuss her own miraculous healing from cancer, through prayer and the intercession of Mary. This will be followed by the recitation of the rosary, before the statue will be processed out of the church by Knights at 6 p.m. On display with the statue in Putnam will be first class relics of Saints Francisco and Jacinta, two of the three children who were visited by Mary at Fatima over a century ago. Summer Bible Study at St. Veronica Chapel

Holy Angels Parish to host Barbecue Chicken Dinner

Tolton: From Slave to Priest coming to McVinney Auditorium

New support group for divorced and separated Catholics

CAROLINA — The Office of Life and Family is offering a new support group for divorced and separated Catholics at St. Mary Church, rectory (downstairs, side entrance), 437 Carolina Back Road. The group is ongoing and will be held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, from 7 - 8:30 p.m. There are no costs to attend. This support group embraces our Catholic faith and God’s grace, and provides a peaceful place for sharing, healing and for topics/discussions related to separation/divorce.
