Public Square Rosary to take place in Arctic
WEST WARWICK — All are invited to join in a Public Square Rosary on Saturday, Oct. 12 at noon, rain or shine, at the Majestic Gazebo in Arctic. This Public Square Rosary, sponsored by the America Needs Fatima organization in conjunction with the Legion of Mary of St. Anthony Parish, will be one of over 20,000 rallies that will take place all across the United States. St. Rocco Church to show pro-life film ‘Unplanned’
JOHNSTON — A celebration for life including the showing of the hit movie, “Unplanned: The Abby Johnson Story” will take place on Saturday, Oct. 12 at St. Rocco’s Church, 931 Atwood Ave. Doors to Cafe Rocco will open following the 5 p.m. Mass, and the movie will begin at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free and includes light refreshments. All are invited to bring a friend to learn about area Pro-life resources, and see ‘Unplanned.’ Children under 17 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Holy Ghost Church’s Columbus Day Weekend Festivities
PROVIDENCE — Holy Ghost Church will have a “Second Hand Find” during Columbus Day weekend on Saturday, Oct. 12, Sunday, Oct. 13 and Monday, Oct. 14 from noon - 6 p.m. Home décor, small furniture, accessories, jewelry and craft items, and homemade desserts will be available for sale. Knights to host breakfast
NORTH KINGSTOWN — The Knights of Columbus will hold a breakfast at the Council Hall, 1265 Tower Hill Road, on Sunday, Oct. 13, from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. The menu will include eggs, bacon, home fries, baked beans, blueberry pancakes, pastries, apple crisp, orange juice, coffee and tea. Mimosa, Bloody Mary or Baileys Irish Cream are available for additional cost.
Mass for healing offered at St. James Chapel
CHARLESTOWN— A Mass for healing will be offered at St. James Chapel, 2079 Matunuck Schoolhouse Rd., on Sunday, October 13 at 2 p.m. by Father Paul Desmarais, pastor of St. Mary/St. James Parish. Those whose health is seriously impaired by sickness or old age may receive the sacrament of Anointing of the Sick within Mass. Regina Coeli Society of St. Mary’s Church to meet
CRANSTON — The next meeting of the Regina Coeli Society of St. Mary Church, will be Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m., in the parish center. The guest speaker will be Chef Andrew Lussier from the Ocean Tides School, Narragansett, who will give a cooking demonstration. Regina members are asked to bring nonperishable food items for the Thanksgiving baskets and for the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry. New members are always welcome.
Rosary Rally at Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery
EXETER — The parishioners at St. Kateri Tekakwitha will host an outdoor Rosary Rally on Saturday, October 19, at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, from noon – 1 p.m. Rain date is October 26 at the same time and location. All present will gather around the Memorial Wall (adjacent to the WWII monument) in the center of the cemetery at 11:45 a.m. This Rosary Rally is in accordance with the 2019 “Public Square Rosary Crusade,” and “America Needs Fatima” campaign for 2019. Please meet to pray the rosary together. Bring your own rosary, or rosaries will be available.
St. Francis de Sales Parish Yard Sale
NORTH KINGSTOWN — St. Francis de Sales Parish, 381 School St., will hold its annual indoor yard sale on Saturday, Oct. 19, and Sunday, Oct. 20 from 8 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., rain or shine. Hope and Cope support group to meet
PORTSMOUTH — The St. Matthias Ministry Hope and Cope Support Group will meet on Sunday, Oct. 20, from 5 - 6 p.m. in the chapel meeting room, under the chapel, at St. Barnabas Church, 1697 E. Main Road. If you know someone who is supporting a loved one or friend in need of recovery or currently in recovery yourself, then this group is for you. PROVIDENCE — Saint Agnes Church, 351 Branch Ave. will hold a Novena for three evenings in honor of Saint Jude on Sunday, Oct. 20, Monday, Oct. 21, and Tuesday, Oct. 22. Mass and Novena prayers will be offered at 6 p.m. The theme of the St. Jude Triduum is “Renewing Our Spirituality: 12 Celtic Spiritual Practices that Celebrate God in the World.” A reception and raffle drawing will follow Mass on the last evening of the St. Jude Triduum.
Autumn Angel Bazaar
WEST WARWICK — St. Mary Church, 70 Church St., will hold the Autumn Angel Bazaar, Oct. 26, from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Oct. 27 from 8 a.m. to noon. Breakfast and lunch will be served, with plenty of parking and handicap accessibility. The event will include raffles, themed baskets, lottery tree, roll-ups, penny social and handmade crafts.

St. Pius X Church Annual Walk for Life
WESTERLY — St. Pius X Church Hall, 45 Elm St., will host the annual Walk for Life on Sunday, Oct. 20, beginning at noon. Gather at St. Pius X Church for a one-mile walk which will include a brief prayer service at the Tomb of the Unborn at St. Sebastian’s Cemetery. For those unable to walk there will be 2 hours of Eucharistic Adoration from noon — 2 p.m., ending with Benediction. Following Benediction, a collation outside (weather permitting) will be held. Day of Recollection
BRISTOL — On Saturday, Oct. 26, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church Nocturnal Adoration Society will host a Day of Recollection from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. The topic will be “Our Lady and The Eucharist” and it will be led by Father Matthias M. Sasko, Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate. It will begin in church at the 9 a.m. Mass and continue in the Msgr. Lolio hall. A light breakfast and lunch will be served. October Devotions at St. Margaret Church
