Surviving the Holidays: GriefShare Seminars

WESTERLY — If you are mourning the loss of a loved one, getting through Thanksgiving and the Christmas season can be very hard. The Surviving the Holidays GriefShare seminar can help you find your way through the difficult emotions you may be experiencing this time of year. In this seminar you will watch a video, be part of a supportive discussion group, and receive a Survival Guide with daily encouragement and helpful exercises for the days ahead. Columbiettes to host Turkey Raffle

RIVERSIDE — Columbiettes # 3623 will host a Turkey Raffle on Friday, Nov. 16, at 6:30 p.m., at East Providence, Knights of Columbus, 3200 Pawtucket Ave. The event will include raffles, free hot dogs, cash bar, bake sale. St. John Paul II Church will host Christmas Bazaar

PAWTUCKET — St. John Paul II Church, 750 Central Ave., will host a Christmas Bazaar on Friday, Nov. 16, from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Ticket sales end at 2:30 p.m., raffles begin at 3 p.m. The event includes games, food, silent auction, raffles and shopping.

Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Bingo

BARRINGTON — Holy Angels Parish, 341 Maple Ave., welcomes those 18 and older to its annual Thanksgiving Turkey Bingo, held in the church hall on Friday, Nov. 16. The hall kitchen will sell hot dogs, pizza, dessert and beverages beginning at 5 p.m. Bingo begins at 6 p.m. Players are asked to please bring daubers and will be playing to win frozen turkeys or Shaw’s Supermarket gift cards just in time for the holidays.

Our Lady of Fatima Church annual Christmas Bazaar

CUMBERLAND — Our Lady of Fatima Church will host a Christmas Bazaar on November 17 and 18 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. The event will include baskets of various themes, toys, elephant table, a penny social, raffles and a table full of delicious goodies to eat including cacoilla, hot dogs, fries, dough-boys, bean tripe, rice with chicken and barbeque chicken with fries.

Thanksgiving Family Bingo

PROVIDENCE — St. Adalbert’s Parish at 866 Atwells Ave., will host a Thanksgiving Family Bingo on Saturday, Nov. 17. Bingo starts at 6 p.m.; the kitchen opens at 5:15 p.m. The evening will also feature basket raffles, a penny social and Polish/American foods (take-out available). St. James Church to host Parish Bazaar and Giant Flea Market

MANVILLE — St. James Church, 33 Division St., will host its annual Parish Bazaar and Giant Flea Market on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., in the Father Brindamour church hall, bazaar and kitchen, and the Father Brouillette Center, Flea Market. The event will feature vintage items such as trunks, luggage, linens, raffles, a penny social, split-the-pot, gift certificates, baskets and baked goods. The Scout groups will also be participating and will make available freshly popped buttery popcorn, cocoa mug kits, and a few surprises. The kitchen will be open all day. Hope and Cope support group to meet

PORTSMOUTH — The St. Matthias Ministry Hope and Cope Support Group will meet on Sunday, Nov. 18 from 5 - 6 p.m. in the chapel meeting room, under the chapel, at St. Barnabas Church, 1697 E Main Road. The Scalabrini Council to host annual Game Dinner

CRANSTON — The Scalabrini Council will host its Annual Game Dinner on Sunday Nov. 18, at 5 p.m., at the Santa Maria DiPrata Club, 29 Walnut Grove Ave. The menu will include venison calzone, antipasto, venison chili, pasta with venison meatballs and sausage, wild boar and peas, venison teriyaki, venison meatloaf with potatoes and rabbit Cacciatore. All Souls Mass of Remembrance

Coping with Grief at the Holidays

EAST PROVIDENCE — Coping with Grief at the Holidays workshop will offer positive suggestions to help with the adjustment that must be made during the holiday season. On Monday, Dec. 3 from 6:30 - 8 p.m. Peter Magnotta, MSW LICSW, from the diocesan Office of Life and Family Ministry will offer a special session to prepare for the holidays at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 346 Waterman Ave. This event is free but pre-registration is required by November 30 to enable sufficient handouts. Bristol County Chorus to perform at St. Mary’s Church

BRISTOL — The Bristol County Chorus will present their 38th annual Christmas concert on Dec. 2, at St. Mary’s Church, Wood Street, at 3 p.m. The chorus and orchestra will be conducted by new director of music, Nicholas Rocha, alongside guest conductor and group founder Joan Roth. Featured soloists include soprano Sheila Humphrey-Zuccarello, director of music at St. Mary of the Bay in Warren; and mezzo-soprano Diana Carvalho, cantor for Holy Angels Church in Barrington. This year titled, “A Christmas Gloria,” the concert celebrates themes of peace and rejoicing through beloved holiday music by master Baroque composers, Bach, Handel, and Vivaldi.
