Amos House Volunteer Opportunity
PROVIDENCE — Amos House, 460 Pine St., a fully handicap-accessible agency, prepares free tax returns for income-qualified individuals and families from the last week of January through mid-April. Please consider donating five hours of your time each week to serve as a tax preparer or greeter. Participants receive IRS training and certification. If you believe you’d enjoy using your skills to help the less fortunate in this way, and would like more information, please call Mike Speidel at 617-645-1584.
St. Agnes Church Christmas Star Festival
PROVIDENCE — St. Agnes Church, 351 Branch Ave., will hold its annual Christmas Star Festival in the church hall on Friday, Nov. 29 from 5 – 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. The bazaar will feature penny socials, grab bags, bake table, pot of gold, pet table, jewelry, and raffles. Coat Exchange at St. Francis of Assisi Church
WAKEFIELD — St. Francis of Assisi Church is giving away free coats and winter outerwear to anyone in need, on Friday, Nov. 29 from 9 a.m. – noon, downstairs at the parish, 128 High St. Please stop by if you need a coat. If you have a coat to give, please donate. The parish is also accepting donations of clean, new and used winter outerwear — especially children’s sizes, including sweaters, scarves, hats and gloves. Local Catholic author to sign debut book at Barnes & Noble

Celebrating Deacon Lapierre’s 25th anniversary of diaconate ordination

Knights, police plan Toy Drive
WOONSOCKET — The Knights of Columbus Woonsocket Council in conjunction with the Woonsocket Police Department will host its annual Toy Drive on Saturday, Nov. 30 at All Saints Church, Rathbun Street, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.. Please bring a new unwrapped toy for children ages newborn to 13 years of age. Monetary donations are also welcomed. The Christmas toys will be distributed by the police dept. for needy children throughout the community. Santa will be available for photo at the toy drive. The kitchen will be open for lunch and there will be raffles with prizes.

Holiday Concert at St. Agnes Church

Knights to collect clothing and other items for R.I. Veteran’s Home

Final Christmas concert at St. Charles Borromeo
WOONSOCKET — St. Charles Borromeo Church will host the final Christmas concert on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2 p.m. in the parish, 8 Daniels St. The concert will feature the adult choir, with special guests the Providence Youth Classical Guitar Ensemble. This event is free and open to the public. It is a special opportunity to see the inside of the oldest Catholic Church in Northern Rhode Island before it closes its doors after more than 170 years of service. Bristol County Chorus to present Christmas concert
BRISTOL — The Bristol County Chorus will present their 39th annual Christmas concert accompanied by a professional orchestra on Sunday, Dec. 15, at St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood St., at 3 p.m. The chorus and orchestra will be conducted by director of music, Nicholas Rocha.
