On Saturday, March 7, the Youth Ministry from St. John Vianney Church in Cumberland recently volunteered alongside the Elisha Project with its director George Ortiz. The Elisha Project is a ministry based in Rumford that prepares 250-300 meals each Saturday and distributes them to those in need in Providence on the sidewalk near Crossroads. Twenty young people and 10 adults helped to pack 270 meals and raised $850 to support their ministry. Father Joe Pescatello, pastor of St. John Vianney Church, worked with the teens, along with Veronica Plante, coordinator of Youth Ministry, and Erin Blais, Confirmation coordinator.
