What would your school do with $10,000?

WOONSOCKET – When given the challenge by the Feinstein Foundation “What would you do with $10,000?” two schools did not have to think hard about how they could use the money.

Both Good Shepherd and Monsignor Gadoury have the good fortune of being recipients of these generous grants given by Feinstein.

Mary Chabot, principal at Monsignor Gadoury, is using the grant to purchase extra reading materials to supplement the new reading series they started last year and to provide some much needed scholarship money for the students attending Monsignor Gadoury.

Larry Poitras, principal at Good Shepherd, is continuing the update of the school by adding white boards to replace all of the chalk boards in the classrooms. Other recent upgrades have included new desks and chairs, a computer lab and a portable computer for each grade.

Good Shepherd is a Catholic Elementary School serving grades 4 - 8. Monsignor Gadoury is a Catholic Primary school for grades PreK - 3rd grade. They are part of the Greater Woonsocket Catholic Regional School System. The schools also include: Our Lady of Victories (Grades K – 3) in Woonsocket and Fr. Holland Grades PreK - 8).
