TEAM SPIRIT: The 7th grade girls’ basketball team from Mercymount Country Day School, Cumberland, were recently crowned the Catholic Athletic League Division II Girls Midget Champs after defeating Blessed Sacrament in the Division II championship, winning that statewide title for a record-setting third year in a row. PROUD PLAYERS: The 6th Grade Boys Midget Team won their Division I championship game against St. Joseph School. The boys head to the New England tournament on March 30. The team, coached by Jack Knobloch and Josh Plucinski, includes, in no particular order, Matthew Belsito, Sam Carter, Joseph Collucci, Michael DelliCarpini, Marco Franco, John Hagopian, Derek Knobloch, Nicholas Plucinski, Shane Reilly, Nicholas Salvatore and Chad Spears.
