Pet blessings will be listed in newspaper

PROVIDENCE — The RI Catholic is seeking information about parish-sponsored pet blessing ceremonies to commemorate the Feast of St. Francis, Oct. 4. Healing service

Macaroni supper

Weekly prayer group

Fall Family Festival

MIDDLETOWN — Woman to Woman Support Network will host an indoor “Fall Family Festival,”

Sept. 15, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at All Saints Academy, 915 West Main Road. The event will include vendors,

Voice of the Faithful has Prov. convention

PROVIDENCE — Theologian Father Richard McBrien, Judge Michael Merz, chair of the National Review Board of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. and lay activist Edwina Gately will be the guest speakers at the Voice of the Faithful National Convention, Oct. 19-20, at the Rhode Island Convention Center.

The event will include almost 30 workshops and panel discussions, including “Discipleship and its Revival at Vatican II”; “Called to be Church: A Model for Participatory Pastoral Planning”: “Who Says it’s Time to Blow Out the Candles?”; a panel on parish closings, and “Googling God,” a workshop on making the church relevant to the 20-something generation.
