Please support your diocesan newspaper this Christmas

Dear Friends,

Our Holy Father, Pope Francis, has inspired us with these words: “I invite all Christians, everywhere, at this very moment, to a renewed personal encounter with Jesus Christ.” A personal encounter with Christ – that’s what the work of the Church is all about. And fostering that encounter is also the ultimate mission of the Rhode Island Catholic.

Each week, the Rhode Island Catholic provides comprehensive reporting on religious news from around the world, across our nation and from our own diocese. It also offers timely editorial dialogue as well as ongoing formation about our Catholic Faith. No other media outlet in our state provides this service. It’s because of the paper’s important and unique status that I humbly ask you for a special Christmas gift in support of its mission.

During this week and next, envelopes will be included with the newspaper with the request that you make a generous contribution to our Church’s “paper of record.” Checks should be made to the Rhode Island Catholic, and donations can also be made online by clicking here.

I will be personally grateful for whatever you can give – $10, $25, $50 or perhaps even more – and I will remember in prayer and at Holy Mass all of our special donors.

I pray that in this Advent and Christmas Season you will encounter our Lord Jesus with renewed faith, fervor and joy. And may the Christ Child bless you and your family with his infinite love!
