State handwriting honors awarded to Mercymount students

Mercymount Country Day School recently recognized students who earned top honors from Zaner-Bloser by displaying excellent handwriting skills in the 25th annual National Handwriting Contest. One student was selected from each grade level ranging from first to fifth grade; they each exhibited the finest handwriting at their grade level in the school. Four of those students also won their grade level contests at the state-wide level; one student earned an honorable mention in the statewide contest. This year, more than 300,000 students participated in the annual contest. Each school winner was presented with a certificate and medal. The teachers of the state winners were presented with a crystal paperweight from the company. The school receives a $200 credit to use for future Zaner-Bloser writing products.
