A Convening on Practical Solutions to Homelessness: The diocesan Secretariat for Catholic Charities and Social Ministry recently hosted more than 20 representatives from Catholic Charities agencies located throughout New England and partnered with Catholic Charities USA to host an Advocacy Forum titled “A Convening on Practical Solutions to Homelessness” to discuss the state of homelessness in local communities, states, and regions and share challenges, ideas, solutions and models of best practice for addressing homelessness and provide attendees with federal-level advocacy training.

James Jahnz, secretary for Catholic Charities and Social Ministry, said, “This convening was extremely valuable to all who attended. The staff from CCUSA provided up to the minute statistics and gave concrete strategies to the attendees for advocacy training when speaking with their federal delegations about homelessness. The partnership between the Diocese of Providence and Catholic Charities USA is an important one and helpful as well.”
