It was reported last week that popular actress Sandra Bullock will portray late-term abortion advocate Wendy Davis in an upcoming feature film. As a Texas state senator, Davis made national news headlines in June of 2013 for her 13-hour filibuster of a Texas senate bill to ban all abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Thankfully, the filibuster didn’t permanently kill the bill, and it was eventually signed into law by then-Texas governor Rick Perry. The following year Davis ran for governor as a Democrat and was resoundingly defeated by Republican Greg Abbott.
Now, her efforts to keep baby killing legal in Texas for all nine months of a woman’s pregnancy will be lionized by Ms. Bullock and others in a pro-abortion movie.
This comes as abortion rates in the United States continue, praise God, to decrease. On Sept. 18, the Associated Press reported that “the number and rate of abortions across the United States have plunged to their lowest levels since the procedure became legal nationwide in 1973.” That assertion was based on the latest report from the Guttmacher Institute, a pro-abortion research organization that used to be directly affiliated with Planned Parenthood.
Sadly, there are many actors and actresses in Hollywood, like Sandra Bullock, who have yet to become part of this pro-life trend. We should sincerely pray for them — for their enlightenment and their conversions — especially during this Respect Life Month.
