TO THE EDITOR:
Recent events in the Middle East involving Iran have once again impelled me to ask that everyone be very wary and vigilant regarding the danger of conflict across the region and beyond. We must realize that we are not insulated from events spiraling out of control, as happened with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. Keep in mind that this triggered the start of World War I, due to the charged and polarized atmosphere of the time.
