St. Benedict Church to host SPRED liturgy

WARWICK – St. Benedict Church, 135 Beach Ave., will host a SPRED (Special Religious Education) liturgy, May 14, 4 p.m. Following the Mass, an open house will be held in the SPRED room, where refreshments will be served. For more information, call 737-9492.

St. Luke to hold Day of Evangelization

BARRINGTON – St. Luke Church, 108 Washington Road, will host a Day of Evangelization, May 14, beginning with the recitation of the rosary, 8:30 a.m., followed by Mass and neighborhood visitations. The program will conclude with lunch and sharing of experiences. Paired volunteers will visit the Primrose Hill section of Barrington to update the parish census and discuss parish programs; other neighborhoods will be visited at a future date. Office of Life & Family plans ‘A Night for Life’

CRANSTON – The Office of Life and Family Ministry, in conjunction with the Human Guild Apostolate of Prayer team, will sponsor a “Night for Life,” May 13, 6:30 p.m., at St. Paul School Auditorium, 1799 Broad St. Father Robert H. Forcier, Human Life Guild Chaplain, will lead a candlelight procession to the Women’s Medical Center of Rhode Island, where he will lead participants in reciting the rosary. St. Mary of the Bay announces breakfast

Irish-American Pilgrimage Day at La Salette Shrine

ATTLEBORO, MASS. – The National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette, 947 Park St., will host its annual Irish-American Pilgrimage Day, May 15, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. The event will include an outdoor rosary procession, Mass, confession, Irish musicians, step-dancers, children’s activities and presentations by Brayton Stanley and Sister Barbara Walsh. St. Andrew plans boutique sale

Lacrosse games in honor of LCPL Eric Valdepenas

WARWICK – The Bishop Hendricken alumni and varsity lacrosse teams will play games in honor of LCPL Eric Valdepenas ’03, on May 18, at the school. Valdepenas lost his life in 2006 while serving in Iraq. The alumni, many of whom were Valdepenas’ teammates, will play a memorial game at 4 p.m.; the varsity team will play Moses Brown at 6 p.m. A special presentation will be made prior to the evening game.
