LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Biden has consistently thanked God for his many blessings

TO THE EDITOR:

At first glance, the Bishops’ column of January 28, “The Strength that you find” had me hoping that he was going to be writing something positive about President Biden. The Bishop writes about his friends who have endured the many challenges COVID has brought to their family while at the same time thanking God for his many blessings. I was hoping that the Bishop would then use President Biden as an example of a man who has experienced terrible tragedies but lives his life praising God and thanking him for his many blessings.
The numerous challenges that have been placed in front of President Biden are well known; the loss of his first wife and baby daughter in a car crash, the brain cancer that took his oldest son, the battle with addiction that his youngest son is living and the political setbacks endured during his time in the public realm. Some might even say that Joe Biden reminds us of Job. But through it all, President Biden has consistently praised and thanked God for his many blessings. He has tried to live his faith and use it as a guiding principle as he governs a country with its numerous challenges.
Thank you God for your many blessings and thank you for sending us Joe Biden when our country needs his thoughtful, kind and healing stewardship.
