TO THE EDITOR:
Please convey my prayer and appreciation to Bishop Bruce for the two contributions to the Rhode Island Catholic for the week of October 2. The letter by the Bishop on World Day of Migrants and Refugees was a clear and concise explanation on the Church’s teaching on the migrant and the immigrant in our midst. The Bishop’s second contribution, “A Prayer for Walter,” gave a human face to the complexity of undocumented persons in the United States. Both contributions give us clarity in the teaching of the Church and call us to compassion for our neighbor. Be assured of our prayers, as Bishop Bruce continues to lead us in the paths of compassion and justice.
