PROVIDENCE — In an effort to mitigate the sharp increase in the number of those testing positive for COVID-19, Gov. Gina Raimondo has placed limits on the numbers of people allowed to gather socially, dine indoors, attend church services and certain grade levels of school, among other restrictions, which will be in place until Dec. 13.
Houses of worship are allowed to reach a capacity limit of 25 percent.
“The Governor’s new restrictions on houses of worship will not be a problem for most churches, and I’m sure our churches will do their best to comply,” Bishop Thomas J. Tobin tweeted in response.
“A reminder, though, that our churches are very safe and have not been identified as a major source of the virus. Not once.”
