PAWTUCKET – Claire S. (LaPorte) Riendeau, 75, died Feb. 12 at home. She was the wife of Raymond Riendeau, and the sister of Father Paul LaPorte of Pawtucket, pastor emeritus of St. Vincent de Paul Church, Coventry.
Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Gabrielle LaPorte. She was a transcriptionist at the Community Counseling Center, Pawtucket, for 10 years until retiring in 2000.
She was an enthusiastic and long time member of the St. Cecilia Church Choir, and enjoyed singing with the Blackstone Valley Community Singers.
In addition to her husband and Father LaPorte, she is survived by five sons, Paul, David, Joel, Richard and Daniel; a daughter, Diane; a brother, Richard LaPorte of Skowhegan, Maine; and several grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Feb.15 at Blessed John Paul II Church, Pawtucket. Burial was in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
