Christmas Masses to be celebrated at the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul


PROVIDENCE — The Most Rev. Thomas J. Tobin, Bishop of Providence, will celebrate Christmas Day Mass at 10 a.m. The Mass will be broadcast live on WPRI Channel 12 and will be livestreamed on wpri.com as well as on the Diocese of Providence YouTube page. Visit ww.dioceseofprovidence.org for details. Please note that admittance to the Christmas Masses at the Cathedral is by ticket only this year. You may obtain a ticket(s) by calling the Cathedral Office at 401-331-2434. All required pandemic safety protocols will be followed. On Christmas Eve, Cathedral Rector Rev. Anthony Mancini will celebrate a Mass of Vigil at 5 p.m. Due to the pandemic restrictions, there will be no midnight Mass at the Cathedral this year. Reverend Msgr. Raymond Bastia will celebrate the 1 p.m. Mass on Christmas Day at the Cathedral, and there will not a 6 p.m. Mass that day.


St. James, St. Ambrose to host live Advent Vigil Prayer Service on Facebook
MANVILLE — St. James Parish, Manville, and St. Ambrose parish, Albion, will host a Live Facebook Event, “The O Antiphons of Advent,” a Vigil Prayer and Hymn Service that will take place on Sunday, Dec. 20, at 6 p.m., to mark the fourth Sunday of Advent, a season of prayerful anticipation. As the faithful are not able to come together to light the candles of hope, peace, joy, and love on the Advent wreath and sing praises to herald the birth of the Savior, the Faith Formation programs at St. Ambrose and St. James parishes in Lincoln have come together to present this special Advent Vigil Service. The live vigil prayer service will be broadcast from St. James Church on the St. James Office of Faith Formation Facebook page. All are invited to participate.


First Saturday Devotions to Our Lady of Fatima to continue in 2021
PROVIDENCE — The St. Augustine Council of the Knights of Columbus, the Men of St. Joseph, and Relevant Radio will continue their First Saturday Devotions to Our Lady of Fatima in the new year. The next First Saturday Devotion (in music and song) is January 2, 2021. Devotions are held at St. Augustine Church, 20 Old Road, at the corner of Mt. Pleasant Avenue, beginning with the Sacrament of Reconciliation at 3:45 p.m. and continuing until 5 p.m., featuring praying of the Holy Rosary in music and song at 4 p.m., private meditation on the mysteries of the Rosary at 4:30 p.m. and Mass with Holy Communion beginning at 5 p.m. All are invited.
