Free Income Tax Preparation (VITA)
PROVIDENCE — IRS-certified volunteers at Amos House, a fully handicap-accessible agency at 460 Pine St., are preparing free income tax returns for those earning $57,000 or less. There are two options: coming in for document drop-off and a safe-distance in-person interview, and fully electronic. For drop-off, appointments are required; they are available on Mondays and Wednesdays during the day and Tuesday and Thursday evenings, plus on selected Saturdays, by calling 401-272-0220. Completed returns available for pick-up within a week. Electronic filers do not have to come in. More information on filing this way with Amos House and its partner GetYourRefund is available at www.amoshouse.com/freetaxprep. Curbside clam cakes and chowder
PAWTUCKET — The Knights of Columbus will host curbside clam cakes and chowder on Friday’s during Lent, from 5 – 7 p.m., Feb. 26, March 5, 12, 19 and 26, on Norfolk Avenue, behind St. Cecilia School. Call in your order Monday - Friday before 5 p.m. by leaving a message at 401-573-5596. All orders are curbside delivery. All proceeds to benefit Knight of Columbus charities. This event is sponsored by the Pawtucket Knights of Columbus Councils: Delaney - St. Teresa Council # 57 and St. John Paul II Council #12613. The event will be canceled if a parking ban is issued in Pawtucket due to inclement weather.

St. Theresa Shrine to offer fish ‘n’ chips dinners during Lent
NASONVILLE — St. Theresa Shrine, 35 Dion Drive, will offer a fish and chips dinner on the Fridays of Lent. The dinners will include a large or small portion of fried fish, coleslaw and rolls. The dinner will be available from 3 – 7 p.m., for take-out only. Pick up will be in the church hall on a first-come, first-served basis. Social distancing will be maintained.

Mary, Mother of Mankind Church announces Lenten schedule
NORTH PROVIDENCE — All are invited to Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., every Monday during Lent for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at 6 p.m.; Rosary at 6:30 p.m.; Confession 6-7 p.m.; Stations of the Cross at 7 p.m.; and Benediction at 7:30 p.m.

Stations of the Cross at St. Romuald Chapel
SOUTH KINGSTOWN — All are welcome to attend a unique experience of the Stations of the Cross as seen through the eyes of Mary, taking place every Wednesday beginning Feb. 24 through March 31 at 12:30 p.m., at Saint Romuald Chapel, 61 Atlantic Ave., in Matunuck.

Chowder and Clam Cakes
PROVIDENCE — St. Agnes Church, 351 Branch Ave., will open the kitchen in the church hall on all Fridays in Lent (except Good Friday) to provide chowder and clam cakes from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. There will be no dine-in, but takeout can be ordered, and there will be curbside delivery in the parking lot. Call in your order ahead of time each Friday by phoning 401-338-2567. When you arrive, come in and pick up your order or call that number again when you arrive, and someone will bring your order to your car.

St. Francis of Assisi Parish to host Lenten Mission
WAKEFIELD — St. Francis of Assisi Parish will hold its annual Lenten Mission Monday through Wednesday, March 8, 9 and 10. Father John Unsworth, pastor emeritus of St. Bernard’s in Wickford, will preach on the theme of “Journeying in Place During the Ongoing Pandemic.” If we cannot go on pilgrimage, we can make a virtual pilgrimage based on scripture. Father Unsworth will hear confessions from 6-6:45 p.m. each evening and celebrate Mass and preach at 7 p.m.

All Day Confessions at St. Joseph Church
WOONSOCKET — St. Joseph Church, 1200 Mendon Road, will hold All-Day Confessions on Saturday, March 13 from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the church. There will be 2 – 3 priests available to hear individual confessions throughout the day. All confessionals will be screen only due to Covid-19 precautions.
