PROVIDENCE — Diocesan Youth Day, celebrating this year's theme of “I Am,” will be held September 10, from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland, rain or shine, and will offer teens and young adults an active way to live their faith.
The event will feature the celebration of Holy Mass, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, adoration, worship music, meals, games, speakers and more.
Catholic musician Justin Dery, creator of the diocesan “Glorify” program, will serve as keynote speaker and his band “Summit” will be featured guests at the event.
Special workshops will be given by Deacon Dr. Timothy Flanigan, School of Medicine Brown University professor; Jim Flanagan, director of youth ministry at Holy Name Parish, West Roxbury, Mass.; and Sarah Perini and Brendan Kearns, University of Rhode Island students and catechists from St. Bernard Church, Wickford.
This year, the diocese has extended the invitation to eighth graders who are welcome to attend with their parish groups.
