Editorial on Jan. 6 events leaves the wrong impression

TO THE EDITOR:

As Catholics we are called to honesty and called to seek the truth. When we leave out relevant facts we commit something very, very similar to the sin of omission.
The editorial in the 3 February RI Catholic leaves the wrong impression. I do hope that was not intentional. The left is doing all sorts of deceptive and possibly illegal things to spin a narrative that is a lie. Support for that is not what Jesus would do.
Nowhere in the editorial is there any question of ‘due process’ given what happened. The law of the land is not being followed – by the present Administration. It seems that would make any good Catholic ask: why?
Are you asking? If you are ill-informed on these matters, I offer my assistance with what I have found.
Wisdom would say that although both parties may do bad things, discernment and action should be on the most grievous of those. To not offer specifics – is a way of avoiding truth. May the articles and editorials in the RI Catholic always have the high standard of independence and a hunger for truth.
