PROVIDENCE — Eleanor (Gallant) Ricci, 99, of Providence, passed away peacefully at Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Friday July 9, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert L. Ricci Sr.
Born in Attleboro Massachusetts, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Joseph and Amanda (Fontneau) Gallant.
She had been employed by the Speidel Company in Providence for many years
Eleanor is survived by her daughter Marianne Barry and her husband Paul, her son Albert Ricci and his wife Ann, and her grandchildren: Matthew Ricci and his wife Yvonne, Rev. Nathan Ricci and Katherine Barry, and her great grandchildren Mia and Domenic Ricci.
She was the sister of the late Alfred and Albert Gallant and Janet (Gallant) Bristow.
Eleanor had a strong Catholic faith and was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church for many years and later at Church of the Holy Ghost.
Eleanor was an avid cook who loved preparing family dinners and large family parties.
Eleanor was blessed with a long and fruitful life, filled with joy. She had her favorite saying, “It doesn’t cost 5 cents to be nice.” She will be truly missed.
Our heartfelt thanks to the Cranston Adult Day Service for the four years of love and care they gave to Eleanor. Our thanks also to the Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the excellent care she received.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, July 14, in Church of the Holy Ghost, Providence, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich.
